Basic Music Theory

OFF TO A VERY GOOD START

Learn your way around the language of written music; notes, chords, scales, progressions and other handy tools will greatly expand your musical capabilities and allow you to comprehend music in a whole new level.

Ever wondered what a V7 - I cadence is? In these series of lessons I will talk about all the theory I find useful when writing music. From roman numerals to modes, modal interchange, substitute chords, scales, etc.

I've spent years learning all of this information, understanding it, and truth be told, I haven't always found music theory that useful when composing, some of it even gets in the way. So, for me is very important to balance the knowledge with the practical use of this theory.

My lessons will aim to be readily applicable. Remember to visit the GO Community server to suggest new content that you wish to watch next.
